TajMo – July 24th – Denver Botanic Gardens

After a bit of a deluge put a damper on Monday evening’s TajMo concert, Tuesday looked much more promising until a big thunderstorm came swooping down toward the Botanic Gardens. Fortunately, after the staff made an attempt to clear out the bowl (which only really ended up allowing the more daring souls to grab better seats as VIPs headed for shelter), the storm stayed to the south and the show went on pretty much as planned.

Sylvan Esso – July 18th – Red Rocks Amphitheatre

The Ride Festival – July 14th & 15th – Telluride Town Park

While Telluride Bluegrass Festival is the granddaddy of music festivals in Telluride, The Ride Festival, now in its seventh year, has quickly become recognized for a diverse lineup and past heavy hitters such as Pearl Jam, Beck, and Widespread Panic. This year’s edition leaned a bit more on the jam band end of the spectrum, featuring headlining sets from The String Cheese Incident both nights of the festival.

Matador! Soul Sounds Debut Video For “Go On, Love” and Announce Fall U.S. Tour Dates

Matador! Soul Sounds has released a live video recorded at Eddie Roberts’ new creative hub Color Red Studios in Denver, CO. They also will be back in the US after their European Summer dates in the Fall. If you aren’t familiar, the band consists of the dream team of Eddie Roberts (New Mastersounds) and Alan Evans (Soulive) alongside keyboardist Chris Spies and bassist Kevin Scott. Rounding out the already killer line-up are vocalists Kimberly Dawson (Pimps of Joytime) and Adryon de León (Orgone) bringing their soulful and powerful energy to the mix.

Widespread Panic – June 24th – Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Never miss a Sunday show is a mantra of the Widespread Panic faithful, and boy did it hold true this year. Sunday shows are always fun, they’ve got sunshine, a beach party vibe, and ear-to-ear smiles on 10,000 people packed into The Rocks. It’s one of the best days of the year, and yet again, the boys did not disappoint!

The Summer Solstice has always been a significant time of year for celebration in many cultures and that holds true for Bluegrass “festivarians” as well. Each year, more than 10,000 music lovers, many of them repeat offenders, congregate in one of the most picturesque box canyons known to man, Telluride Colorado. This unique town has been host to the Telluride Bluegrass Festival since its inception in 1974. That’s 45 years of perfecting a balance of bluegrass, hippies, outdoor enthusiasts.
