Last weekend Joe Bonamassa landed at Red Rocks for the 5th year running, but this year, instead of just one night on the lauded stage, he added a second. Concert goers were generally delighted with sublime weather and what was billed as the second of two “special sets” on Monday. Despite the billing, the set only differed from Sunday night’s by 5 or 6 songs (see below) which was a disappointment to some who had bought tickets for both shows expecting to hear two completely different nights of music. That said, the masterful guitarist showcased a wide variety of originals and some choice covers made famous by some of the best bluesmen in the business during the performance. While the show was very solid musically, and Bonamassa explored many different styles of Blues, the fact that there was no opening act left the evening feeling pretty short given the price of admission.
Enjoy the photos below, and excuse the single angle as I was restricted to shoot from only one location.
